Harry & David
Harry & David is a direct mail order company known for its high-end gift baskets that feature fresh fruit, nuts and chocolates. The Harry & David company originated in 1910 in Medford, Oregon when founder, Samuel Rosenberg bought a 240-acre parcel of land near the Rogue River Valley. Comice pears were a boom at the time and Rosenberg focused his business on them. His two sons, Harry and David, both educated at Cornell University's school of agriculture, successfully ran the family business after Rosenberg's death in 1914. To this day, Harry & David's "Fruit-of-the-Month Club" and holiday gift towers are year-round best sellers, providing delicious and thoughtful gifts internationally.
